Faith consists of believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe - Volitare

Dougie is really in need of prayer right now. Today has been one of the bad day's... His pulminary hyper tension (PPHN) is causing him to D SAT(which means his oxygen saturation levels are in the 60s when they should be in the high 90s)... they've had to severly sedate him almost all day to help him relax. Docs are doing everything they can, and exhausting every resource possible to help his PPHN. They are even begining a new medication that has only been used on 2 other babies in hopes that it will get his PPHN under control. Right now Brad and I are holding on to every shread of hope and faith that he will overcome this and get better. I have prayed all day today, begged the Lord to give him strength, give him our strength and help him pull through this and I have faith that he will. We have told Dougie all about his Doggies, Patsy and June, his beautiful nursery filled with toys he has yet to see and play with, all the football and baseball games we have to go to, and all of the hundreds of people that love him and are praying for him. Keeping positive is all I can do, he is in Gods hands and I believe.

God Bless our amazingly beautiful little man.

  1. as a mother who had to leave her babies in the NICU for a time.. you have my thoughts and prayers. I know it is hard but stay strong God is watching over you and your family.

    footprints in the sand.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish,
    sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said to the Lord,
    “ You promised me Lord,
    that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
    The Lord replied,
“ The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is when I carried you.”

  2. First off I want to tell u and your family I am praying for u! I just had some questions. Was Dougie premature? I had triplet girls 2 1/2 months early and their oxegyn levels were constantly dropping all the time! We would watch in horror as all of a sudden the monitors would drop down below 60 and alarms would start sounding. This continued for almost 4 months! They has them on oxegyn for a long time. My smallest who was only 1 pound 15 ounces had the hardest time, and I honestly didn't think she was going to make it. They r all striving and healthy now. I know how hard it is to just sit there and not be able to do anything to help, when your momy instincts just want to take over and take control. But, I will be praying for your strength to continue, and for baby Dougies strength to keep strong. I can honestly say I know what your going through. Be strong for the babies sake, and any chance you get to hold or touch take advantage. If they offer kangaroo care (holding baby next to your naked chest) do it, they say it helps more then anything else! Keep me posted please. I'm on face book Smightrad23@yahoo.com. my name is Jamie
